Ernst Kjellberg, a pioneer ahead of his time.

​Swedish immigrant, Ernst Kjellberg, became a legend in his time in North Queensland. In 1918, with his wife, Louise, and young son Balder, he moved to North Queensland to pioneer a selection at Milla Milla on the Atherton Tablelands, clearing the land and establishing an Illawarra Shorthorn dairy herd.

During the 1920's he was increasingly called upon to treat spinal injuries sustained in the hard work of land clearing and establishing homes. So successful was his treatment that he found increasing numbers of people on his door-step seeking his help
